Fairfield County weddings are shot against water more often than not. Greenwich Harbor at the boats. A club lawn that simply stops at the Sound. A tent with its back wall left open on purpose. The county's whole visual argument is horizon, and a film made here should be built to spend it.
Water sets the terms too. A June breeze off the Sound moves a veil beautifully and ruins an unprotected microphone, so redundant audio on the vows matters here more than almost anywhere else. Tented receptions lose light faster than ballrooms once the sun drops behind the tree line, which is why the first dance lighting wants to be set during dinner and not after it.
Inland the county turns into something else entirely. New Canaan and the towns above the parkway give you stone walls, a Tudor house on three hundred acres, and grounds that look the way Connecticut is supposed to look. Those we shoot slower, with longer takes and much less cutting.
Connecticut sits on our calendar the same way New Jersey does, and since the drive from the studio crosses the Hudson and comes up the Hutchinson, we build the schedule around that hour rather than around the map.

We are marrying under a tent on the water. What breaks first?
Audio. Wind off the Sound sits directly on top of an open microphone and there is no fixing it later. Plan for more than one source on the vows, and ask early whether the site has a sound system worth taking a feed from, because that is decided long before the day.
Greenwich clubs are private. Will they let a film crew through the gate?
Private clubs admit vendors on paperwork rather than on introduction. Expect a certificate of insurance and your names on a vendor list about a week ahead. Ask your club contact for the exact format they want, and settle it early rather than in the final week.
Is the Inn at Longshore open right now?
Not as of this writing. Delamar has the property in renovation with a reopening slated for fall 2026. If you are looking at a 2027 date it is worth a call to them before you build the weekend around it.
How much does the Merritt Parkway actually affect a Friday wedding?
On a Friday it is most of the conversation. For a Friday ceremony in Greenwich or Westport we schedule arrival with hours of margin rather than gambling on the parkway, and we say so upfront instead of apologizing later.
Can we do a first look on a town beach?
Sometimes. Connecticut shore towns vary a lot on seasonal access and on whether commercial filming needs a permit at all. We check the current rule for your town and your date before it goes on the shot list, rather than assuming last year's answer still holds.
