Can we hold the ceremony or portraits in the Shakespeare Garden?
The garden is inside Cedar Brook Park, which is Union County land rather than city land, so it goes through the county reservation desk in Elizabeth and not through Plainfield. Ask them what a wedding party is permitted to do there and how long you can hold the space. Book it well ahead if your date is in bloom season, and keep a covered alternative in the plan.
Is Plainfield Country Club actually in Plainfield?
No, and it is worth knowing before you send directions. The club carries the city's name from its founding but its address is 1591 Woodland Avenue in Edison. It is a short drive from downtown, so it works perfectly well as an evening room after a Plainfield ceremony, but out of town guests putting the name into a phone will be sent to the wrong municipality unless the invitation is explicit.
Our venue is bring your own vendors. Does that affect the filming?
It affects the clock more than the camera. A rental that includes setup and breakdown inside the same eight hours means the room is bare when we arrive and bare again when we leave, so the window for a lit portrait in a finished room is narrower than at a full service venue. Give us the load in time along with the ceremony time and we will tell you where that window actually sits.
Do you film Nigerian, Ghanaian and Caribbean weddings?
Yes, and the honest answer is about coverage rather than a highlight reel we are trying to sell you. Programs in these traditions run long and hold real weight in the parts a short film usually cuts: the family entrances, the elders being greeted, the money on the floor, the spraying. Where does Plainfield look best on camera?
Late in the day, on the older residential blocks. The Victorian porches and the tree cover in the historic districts give you shade with warm edges in the final hour of sun, and the downtown brick holds color long after the avenues have gone flat. If your ceremony ends near sunset we will steal fifteen minutes for that and give the rest of the night back to your guests.
