Wedding Videographer in Summit, NJ
Summit is a private club town, and that shapes a wedding here long before anyone picks a florist. Canoe Brook has been on its land since 1901. Beacon Hill sits in woods on one of the highest points in the city. Both run on membership, which means the room you want may depend on who in the family belongs, and the contract may not have your name on it at all.
What is open to everyone is very good. The Albion has been a landmark on the same corner since 1868 and now stacks a hundred hotel rooms, a restaurant and a whiskey lounge above a ballroom, which is about as close as Union County gets to a wedding weekend nobody has to drive to. Reeves-Reed is thirteen and a half acres of garden with a historic house sitting in it, and it caps small on purpose.
Then there is the clock. The train puts Penn Station well inside an hour, so a New York guest list turns up at a New Jersey ceremony time and starts checking departures around ten. We plan coverage against that, front loading the film so the best of the night is already shot before the room begins to thin.
Summit is a few minutes off Route 24 and well under an hour from Penn Station on Midtown Direct, which is why so many weddings here run a New York guest list on a New Jersey schedule.

How the house works
A conversation first
We start with the day itself. Who is in it, where it moves, and the handful of moments you would be heartbroken to lose. Nothing is quoted before we understand that.
A quiet camera
On the day the house works small and close. No blocking the aisle, no staging your guests, no directing a room that is already doing something worth keeping.
The film, finished
You receive a cinematic edit built for the way people actually watch, cut to the sound of your own day. Everything included is agreed in writing before the date is held.
Summit weddings, answered
Two of the best rooms in Summit are members only. Does that complicate hiring you?
Only on paperwork. At Canoe Brook and Beacon Hill the sponsoring member's agreement governs the day and outside vendors are cleared through the club rather than through you, so we send our insurance certificate and a plain summary of where we intend to stand to the club manager well ahead of the date. Nothing about that should still be under discussion at nine in the morning.
Reeves-Reed is a garden. What is the honest capacity?
Smaller than most couples assume. The Wisner House with its terrace holds roughly a hundred standing or sixty five seated, and the Azalea Garden takes up to 125. That is a genuinely intimate wedding, which happens to suit a vertical film, because at that size there is no crowd to hide the real moments behind.
What is the rain plan for an outdoor Summit wedding?
Ridge weather turns fast up here and the gardens have no permanent cover, so the tent call usually has to be made a couple of days out rather than on the morning. We shoot the same film either way. The tent changes your light from open sky to a canvas bounce, which is warmer and honestly kinder to skin than harsh sun, so a rain day is not the compromise it sounds like.
Can you cover a whole weekend at the Albion rather than one day?
The property is built for exactly that, with the rooms, the restaurant and the lounge all under one roof, so a rehearsal dinner, a ceremony and a next morning can happen without anyone leaving the building. Tell us early if you want the weekend covered. It is a different plan and a different crew shape, not simply more hours bolted onto the day.
Tell us about your Summit wedding.
Dates go quickly through the season. Send the day, the place, and anything you already know, and we will tell you honestly whether the house is the right fit.
